Casement
The Casement window has a full-view sash and crank-out operation. It offers a broad view when closed and maximum ventilation when fully opened. The plain profile of the sash exterior with its mitered corners and deep glazing stop provides a simple but classic appeal.

A single lever handle raises to release the multi-point sash latches while a folding operator handle accesses the crank-out mechanism to open and close the sash. Our hinge system sets pivot points at the top and bottom of the sash to achieve left or right hinging, depending on your choice. Hinging is specified as viewed from the exterior. Sash Snubbers, on the hinge side sash and jamb, are used to prevent sash bowing when the window is in the closed position.
Interior Screen Channel
Casement windows feature an interior screen mounting channel that can be used to hold an optional screen to help keep out insects when the sash is open. Clad Vinyl Casements are compatible with our Roll-Form Screen or the Flex Screen. See Screen Options for information about these screen systems.
Jamb Depth
The jamb depth is 2-9/16”. Jamb extensions increase the jamb depth to 4-9/16” or 6-9/16”. See Jamb Options for more information.

Full Opening Ventilation
A casement window sash can be opened fully to provide ventilation through the entire window opening. Compare this to a double-hung window, which can only open to expose less than half the entire window opening. This is a nice benefit for those who enjoy letting in the fresh air.
Single Lever Multi-point Latching System
The casement sash is secured by a lever-activated latching system. A set of latching hooks are attached to the opening edge of the sash. These hooks engage the sash keepers that are concealed within the opening side frame. A single lever secures and releases all latching points.
Interior Screen Mounting Channel
Due to the outward opening of the sash, casement windows feature an interior-mounted screen option. The vinyl interior has a screen channel that helps to hold the screen in place when installed. If you like to open your windows to allow in the fresh air, a screen can help keep insects from coming in through the opening.
Jamb Depth - 2-9/16"
Clad Vinyl products are designed to have a minimal visual impact on the wall. They are often integrated as part of a Drywall Return finishing system. The 2-9/16” jamb depth works well with this application.
Extensions are also available to fit 4-9/16” and 6-9/16” wall thicknesses.
