With a full-view sash and crank-out operation, a casement window offers a broad view when closed and maximum ventilation when fully opened.

A single lever handle raises to release the multi-point sash latches while a folding operator handle accesses the crank-out mechanism to open and close the sash.
Our hinge system sets pivot points at the top and bottom of the sash to achieve left or right hinging, depending on your choice. Hinging is specified as viewed from the exterior. The hinge system is adjustable to fine-tune the sash alignment for proper operation.
An optional egress hardware hinge system, that increases the clear-opening width, is available for specific applications.
Interior Screen / Screen Mounting Channel
Casement windows feature an interior screen mounting channel that can be used to hold an optional screen to help keep out insects when the sash is open. See Screen Options for more information.
Jamb Depth
The standard jamb depth is 4-9/16”. A jamb depth of 6-9/16" is achieved with 2" extensions. Additional jamb options are available. See Jamb Options for more information.

Our clad-wood products feature clear pine interiors that are ideally suited for staining or painting. Choose to have your windows and doors delivered without any interior finish so that you can stain or paint them yourself or have them primed or painted at the factory with your choice of one of our standard interior finish colors.

Full Opening Ventilation
A casement window sash can be opened fully to provide ventilation through the entire window opening. Compare this to a double-hung window, which can only open to expose less than half the entire window opening. This is a nice benefit for those who enjoy letting in the fresh air.
Single Lever Multi-point Latching System
The casement sash is secured by a lever-activated latching system. A pair of latching hooks are attached to the opening edge of the sash. These hooks engage the sash keepers that are concealed within the opening side frame. A single lever secures and releases both latching points.
Interior Screen Mounting Channel
Due to the outward opening of the sash, casement windows feature an interior-mounted screen option. The interior wood has a top and bottom channel that helps to hold the screen in place when installed. If you like to open your windows to allow in the fresh air, a screen can help keep insects from coming in through the opening.
Jamb Depth - Standard 4-9/16"
Casement windows, like most of our clad wood products, have a standard jamb depth of 4-9/16”. This is to accommodate typical 2 x 4 wall construction.
